THE CAPITAL OF ETHIOPIA
Addis Ababa is located in the foothills of the Entoto Mountains on a well-watered plateau surrounded by hills and mountains. The name translates to ‘New Flower’ in Amharic. It is home to the African Union, headquarters of the United Nations Economic Commission for Africa, and is often called the “African capital” due to its historical, diplomatic, and political significance for the continent. International institutions, many embassies, and consulate offices reside in the capital of Ethiopia that makes Addis Ababa the third diplomatic city in the world.
